UI/UX Designer
Our Austin, TX based client is hiring their first UI/UX Designer to lead the design vision for a complete overhaul of their legacy desktop application. This is a foundational role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, understands the complexity of redesigning mature systems, and is passionate about creating intuitive, modern user experiences.
What You’ll Do: • Lead Design Strategy: Own the end-to-end design process for a full system redesign—from discovery through delivery. • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and leadership to translate business goals and technical constraints into elegant, user-centered designs. • Create and Maintain Design Systems: Build scalable design components and patterns that support consistency across the platform. • Deliver High-Fidelity Prototypes: Use tools like Figma to create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that bring ideas to life. • Champion the User: Conduct user research, gather feedback, and iterate on designs to ensure usability and accessibility. • Bridge Legacy and Modern: Understand the challenges of redesigning a legacy desktop UI and help guide the transition to a modern, cloud-native experience.
Proven experience leading UI/UX efforts for complex applications, ideally in B2B or enterprise environments. Deep expertise with Figma (or similar tools) for design, prototyping, and collaboration. Strong understanding of modern design principles, usability heuristics, and responsive design. Experience working with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and implementation fidelity. Ability to balance user needs with business goals and technical realities. Excellent communication and storytelling skills—you can clearly articulate design decisions and rationale.
