The Sr. Web Developer/RFP Development position is a fully remote role that focuses on the development and integration of technical requirements for agency dashboards, applications, and databases as part of a website redesign project. The successful candidate will engage with agency staff to gather and document specific technical requirements, ensuring that the new website meets the needs of the agency and integrates effectively with external platforms. This role requires a thorough understanding of the current agency website and the external tools that may be integrated into the new site. In addition to interviewing agency staff, the developer will conduct an independent review of the existing website to identify current features and potential areas for improvement. The role also involves gathering and analyzing technology and web-related RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs from other government agencies, particularly those available through the client COMMBUYS platform. This analysis will help inform the drafting of the agency's website redesign RFQ. The developer will document best practices for RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs, focusing on technical requirements for integrating dashboards, interactive applications, and GIS mapping tools. Furthermore, the role includes identifying benchmark websites from both government and private sectors that exemplify excellence in integrating technical requirements. The developer will also review peer organizations' websites to benchmark features and functionalities that can be considered for the new website.
• A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, web development, or a closely related field. • Two to four years of experience in web development. • Familiarity with writing RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs. • Knowledge of principles and best practices of web page and website design, construction, and maintenance. • Proficiency in web development languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and SQL. • Understanding of standard web strategies including client- and server-side processing, backend databases, and middleware. • Ability to follow web content accessibility guidelines to meet federal and state requirements.
